SMART Repair Technician

We are looking to recruit an experienced Wheel/Smart Repair Technician to join our growing team at Specialist Cars Stevenage. The successful candidate will have the desire to demonstrate a passion for having exceptional pride in the quality of their work, along with being capable of handling a high volume of work. You will have the skills required to carry out all smart repair disciplines, especially wheel refurbishment and local paint repairs. You shall need to be self-motivated and highly proactive to aid in the growth of this already successful department.
What you’ll be doing
As a SMART Repair Technician (Small, Medium Area Repair Technician) you will be responsible for carrying out any general cosmetic repairs to customer vehicles and used-car stock. Your work will be of the highest standard and workmanship, using the tools provided.
Role responsibilities – including but not limited to
- We've recently started offering on-site diamond cutting services, you will be trained to a level to continue rolling this out to our customers - To examine vehicles to identify additional work for repair, liaising with the Service Manager to obtain permission to proceed - To carry out wheel refurbishments - To carry out cosmetic paint repairs - To carry out seat fabric repairs - To carry out minor dent removals - To clearly document all work performed ensuring that times are recorded accurately and within agreed time frames - To take care of vehicles whilst being worked on - To adhere to health and safety requirements and maintain a tidy work station
Who you need to be
- You must have excellent communication skills to communicate credibly with our customers, colleagues and senior management - You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment recognising individual responsibility to contribute to the performance and success of the team - You will have an understanding of the needs of others and a willingness to go the extra mile - You will have the ability to keep up-to-date with complex information, proven selling skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills - You will be good with administration, diary management and following up within agreed time frames - You will be able to develop rapport and trust with customers and to resolve conflict situations calmly and reasonably - You will have a passion for customer service, have a process orientated approach and be professional and well presented
- You will have a full UK driving licence - You will have at least one years' experience working as a SMART Repair Technician - You will have good IT skills
